About Me

I started taking Alexander Technique lessons in the mid-1990s. At the time I was working at a research & consultancy company and sitting to use a computer for extended periods which was leading to pain - predominantly in my neck, jaw and shoulders but also in my hips and lower back. I tried all the usual avenues - physiotherapy, massage, chiropractic and osteopathy. Some of these offered some relief but only for a short while. It was during an introductory workshop and subsequent individual lesson with an Alexander Teacher that I had a revelation - the pain and tension I were suffering were a result of things I was doing to myself, or, in other words, habits of misuse and tension. I started taking lessons and have never looked back. I began training as an Alexander Technique teacher in 2004 at the Constructive Teaching Centre, one of the oldest Alexander schools in the world, run by Walter and Dilys Carrington, who were themselves directly taught by FM Alexander himself.

I'm a mum of 2 and have lived in south west London - in Southfields and Wimbledon - over 17 years. You'll often find me walking the dog on Wimbledon Common.

I am a fully qualified member of STAT, The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, the UK regulatory body. Click here for more information.

I am also fully CRB checked and fully insured.

In Autumn 2022 I also qualified as a nutritional therapist and as a homeopath.
